Modernizing CI/CD for a legacy ASP.NET platform
Increased velocity and visibility for CI/CD.
The Anvil
A legacy monolith had painfully slow releases thanks to its legacy CI/CD approach: manual steps and over an hour to produce a deployable artifact.
The Strike
I planned and developed the CI migration, standardizing build, test, and packaging programmatically across the codebase. I presented the approach as a PoC, then shipped it in thin slices starting with CI — bringing artifact time down from 30 minutes to 4.
The Edge
Deployment velocity and feedback loops improved sharply, and the team used this deliverable as leverage to drive the rest of the legacy platform’s modernization.
